The tragedy of November 23, 1980, which shook Irpinia killing nearly three thousand people, is remembered through the use of a white sheet, charcoal and the artist’s body. Ninety seconds to relive the terrible tragedy. Andrea Matarazzo becomes a medium who records the intensity of the shock, a sort of human seismograph that connects the paper and the earth.
Andrea Matarazzo (collective Regno of Amataria)
Andrea Matarazzo is an engraver and performer. After the II level Academic Diploma in Graphic Art, he participates in numerous graphics and engraving awards, such as the National Award of the Arts of Turin, the XIII Biennial of Graphics and Arts of Castelleone and the III Xylography competition Ugo Maffi Città di Praise. He is among the winners of the third edition of “I giardini di Via Caravaggio” at the YAG Garage in Pescara. Since 2019 he has been a member of the Regno di Amataria collective together with other artists and performers from Irpinia.
